KTEP boards the bus en route to their four day cultural excursion. They explored Drumheller and Royal Tyrrell Museum, the hoodoo landscape, and spent their first evening in Calgary, home of the 1988 winter Olympics. Days 2 and 3 took them to Banff, Lake Louise and the glaciers of the Columbia Icefields. Before returning home from Jasper on Day 4 KTEPpers learned about the wild animals, trees and flowers of the Rocky Mountains!

Kangwon teachers spent an afternoon with teachers from Hokkaido discussing their successes and challenges teaching English. They were surprised to learn how much they had in common!

KTEP and HTEP meet to discuss commonalities between educational strategies in their respective countries. They discovered how English is a tool that enables international communication.

KTEP participants are encouraged to speak only English during their stay in Canada. Tokens are distributed daily for clear explanations, use of new vocabulary, improvement in writing and extra effort. Weekly incentives celebrate successes.

KTEP23 met their Canadian language partners. Throughout their stay in Edmonton, KTEP teachers met with their Canadian language partners to learn more about everyday life in Canada and issues of public interest and to practice using English in a broad range of social settings.
